Painting your walls can be a daunting task, but if you know some tricks
and simple solutions to make it a better process, then why not go out and buy
some paint and re-paint some walls in your home.
- Tip #1: Prepping Your
Walls
- Always ensure your
walls are 100% clean and smooth. Ensure you patch up all of the holes, cracks,
etc. Once your wall is nice and smooth, it’ll make your painting that much
easier.
- Tip #2: Tint The
Primer
- Tinting your walls is
like putting underwear on. You want to ensure that you prime your walls since
it will block any stains to bleed through as well as cover up any darker colors
that might have been the original color. Primer paint also gives a one-coat
coverage already as well as improves the paints’ adhesion to the wall once you
start to apply your paint.
- More importantly,
before painting the primer on your wall, be sure to add some of the paint color
to the primer, this will give your paint the ability to hide primed surface.
- Tip #3: Paint the trim
first, then the ceiling and walls
- It’s always best to
start on the corners and edges first, then paint the inside. Your more
detailed-oriented when you start a project, so by taking care of the intricate
part of the job, you reduce the potential for an errors.
- Tip #4: Find Cool
Paint Gear to Help You Out
- There’s so much cool
paint gear out there to help you paint your wall! We wanted to showcase some of
them to help you make your wall painting project that much easier.
- Tip #5: Store Your
Paint Correctly
- Best tip ever! If you
didn’t finish painting on the first day, then just take the excess paint off
the brush, wrap it in plastic food wrap and put it in the fridge. It’s crazy
how it works, but you’ll be able to use your paintbrush as if you never
stopped! Just remove it from the fridge prior to painting and let it sit for
15-30 minutes first.
Always make sure to keep those walls nice decorated with custom canvas
art since canvas art is what will really help make your walls pop along with
the color you choose for the wall.
